Love & War Devotional for Couples Book Review

Marriage can be tough! When you first embark on this new journey, you may think that everything will be rosy and magical, like it feels on your wedding day. Then reality hits! From snoring to picking up dirty socks and other annoying habits, you may think "Who is this stranger"? And somehow, we work through all of it.

And then there are times that it really gets difficult. Constant arguing, that awkward dead silence between the two of you- are all signs that things may be getting out of hand. It may be time to call in a referee to make sure your playing (or fighting) fair.

After 16 years of marriage, my husband and I decided to start investing in our marriage again and we've been attending relationship classes. I've definitely noticed a difference.

Lately, we've been reading a booked called, "Love & War devotional for Couples", by John and Stasi Eldredge. I have to admit, the tittle really caught my eye.

So we started this 8 week adventure in hopes to find a little extra help along the way.

First of all, I must say that this little book is packed with extremely good, meaty nuggets of encouragement that are very candid and real! The authors don't hold back and it's nice to see their honesty about their own lifelong journey. Each day we read our daily devotion, we end up having great conversation with one another that leads to a better understanding of our spouse.

The book is broken down into 8 weeks. You read a devotion each day for 5 days. We've been doing this together, both alternating paragraphs. You get your weekends off. So if you miss a day or two, it's easy to get back on track.

I would recommend Love & War to anyone who is married and has been having a hard time, and even if your not. Whether you've been married 5 years or 25 years, this book has something for you. I plan on sharing it at our Relationship class.

Come and discover the love worth fighting for!
Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
