Do You Do Halloween?

As a Christian, I don't really celebrate Halloween.  It's a decision my husband and I made a long ago.  We used to stay at home with the kids, pop popcorn, rent a movie, or watch the Carmen special on TBN.   Has anyone seen that? LOL!

The last few years, we've always just taken our kids to church where they have games, popcorn, treats, sorta like a fall carnival.  I'm fine with that although some would say, "You're still celebrating Halloween".  Honestly, I could care less.  My kids are older and they just want the candy.  So we head to church dressed as ourselves and have a good time.

What do you think of Halloween? Love it?  Hate it? Do tell!

  1. Well, since you stopped by my blog earlier (thank you so much for that!), you already know my opinion. :) I think holidays are always a cause for debate, not only about the IF you'll celebrate them but the HOW you'll celebrate them. I think that is a decision that needs to be made between you, your family and God. In the end, my opinion doesn't matter, and we can agree to disagree and we should respect each other's decisions. People do what people will do regardless how I personally feel about it. I'm the type who will share my opinion, respectfully, if asked, but otherwise I keep my opinions to myself, unless sharing them on my blog, of course, which I always try to keep polite and respectful. Anyway, just wanted to say that and that I've enjoyed checking out your blog. :) Take care.

    1. Me too! I usually keep my opinions to myself, even in my blog. But sometimes you just have to say how you feel, you know?

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. We don't celebrate Halloween although I do allow my kids to participate in their school's Fall Festival. My kids like to dress up (in costumes). They don't dress up for Halloween, but I stock up on after Halloween costumes for up to 80% off and they can dress up all year long:-)

    1. I like the idea of playing dress up all year long, not only for one day. Sounds like you get really good deals on them too.

  3. We haven't celebrated Halloween, but every year after Halloween was over I would go get costumes on clearance so my kids can dress up. This year I brought my daughter a costume to wear to ballet class. I don't give out candy or go trick or treating. We rarely went to church for fall Fest etc.i don't like the evil scary aspect.

  4. I know! I decided that were staying home this year and we'll probably watch a movie and have some treats. No big deal.
