Tell It Like It Is Tuesday: Blogging Vlog

Hey everyone.  Today was one of those days.  You know what I mean.  One of those days we all face as bloggers.  The I'm-in-a-funk-and-I-need-some-help kind of day. It started when... well, take a look for yourself!  This video is loooong, so consider yourself warned.

  1. I totally understand where you are coming from. I have been blogging for 5 or 6 years too. I do it because I love it and I have made so many friends along the way but, I am not where I would like to be as far as blogging goes. I have come to realize that maybe that's a good thing. I don't want to stress out over having a lot of followers. Reason being is that I am loyal and feel that if someone follows me, then I need to follow them as well. Following means, commenting and having a lot of people to follow means that my time would be limited in having to read so many blogs throughout the week. If I wasn't working a full time job and wanted to see my blog grow, I would want to learn as much about social media as possible, but honestly, I don't want to be stuck behind a computer 24/7. I see so many bloggers that are connected through Google +, Pinterest, Facebook, Stumbleon, Twitter...I am a part of some of those too but I have to let go of what I just can't do at this time in my life. I hope this helps. I do understand. Hang in there.

    1. Thanks for your words of encouragement, Simone. I think building community is very important and you are right, you may lose some of that when your blog is very large and popular.
It can be very stressful to try to manage all of this and you really do have to pick and choose.

  2. HI Stacie, I'm listening to your vlog & I understand your frustration. I think you need to think of your blog as a business if you want it to blow up like these other blogs. It requires work just as any other business. You may need to consider hiring an assistant if it's that important to you. I honestly don't understand how it's possible to work full time and take care of a family and grow all these social networks and actually engage in them and write your blog! I am taking baby steps and I might consider getting a social network assistant in a few months. I've just started blogging in December and constantly trying new things to grow my following. You should stop by and participate in my blog party this month. This is the latest event I'm launching. Hopefully, we can learn from each other.

    1. Joi, you are correct. We definitely have to treat our blogs like the businesses that they are. But it can be challenging to balance it all. Here's to much progress and success as we grow!
