The Family Breakfast Project

The information and prize pack have been provided by General Mills through Platefull Co-Op.

Breakfast is to me, the most important meal of the day.  Tell me that you don't eat breakfast and I'll give you 9 reasons why you should.
But I have to admit, I don't really sit down with my family to eat it.  In the mornings, we are all rushing about getting ready for the day.

That's why The Family Breakfast Project put together 7 Days to Family Breakfast which shows easy ways to spend time with your family during breakfast.  Here's how:

Before you start, you prep your pantry with healthy foods and things like berries for cereal toppings.

Here's an example of the first day:

Day 1: What is your wish or worry?  That morning, you can discuss your kids wishes and worries for the day.  It will give you a chance to give them advice and help steer them in the right direction.  Other days include activities that you can do together that won't take a lot of time.

All in all, I like this idea.  The only problem is whether or not it fits in your schedule.  Can you carve ten extra minutes by preparing to do things at night?  Or perhaps you can wake up a few minutes early.  It's up to you.  To learn more, visit Cheerios website and facebook.

What do you think of this idea?

  1. This is a GREAT idea, but definiely won't work for my family. We are usually out of the door by 7 and my school age daughter eats breakfast at school to save time. I eat breakfast at my desk once I get to work. I love this idea though! We could probably do it for our weekend breakfasts though!

    1. I know what you mean Britton. We are also so busy in the morning. I think the weekend mornings would work perfectly for this. At least you're spending some breakfast time with them.
