Mom's Night Out Book and Devotional Review

Being a mom is tough stuff.  It's not for the faint at heart.  You have so much to balance, kids, work, school, the house.  And not to mention being there for your spouse.  It's no wonder that many moms don't take the time they need for themselves.

Moms Night Out is a wonderful story about the struggle of every mom whether a newbie or a veteran mother of many children.

About the book:

Moms' Night Out is a novelization of the hilarious family comedy that celebrates real family life---where everything can go wrong and still turn out all right.

All Allyson and her friends want is a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and conversation . . . a long-needed moms' night out. But in order to enjoy high heels, adult conversation and food not served in a bag, they need their husbands to watch the kids for a few hours-what could go wrong?
Chronicling one night out gone awry, three harried moms, their husbands, a sister-in-law with a misplaced baby, a tattoo parlor owner, a motorcycle gang, and a bewildered cabbie all learn to embrace the beautiful mess called parenting. This book spotlights the unfulfilled expectations and serial self-doubts many moms feel . . . then reassures us that the key is raising kids in a loving home. Mom's Night Out is an endearing, true-to-life comedy.

My thoughts

I loved this faith-full story!  I was surprised how good the story line would be.  Think clean cut Christian Mom's version of the movie Hangover, but encouraging at the same time.

"Mom's Night Out" - the book, was true to the movie, so no surprises there.  If you're the kind of person who likes to read the book as well as see the movie, than you'll enjoy it.  I'm a visual kind of girl, so I like watching the movie better than reading about it.

But honestly, I'm not sure how long this movie will be in theaters so I would recommend purchasing the book because it really is quite funny and you'll love the faith message.

"Mom's Night Out and Other Things I miss", the devotional by Kerri Pomarolli is a hilarious daily read that will encourage your heart and build your faith.  Devotions are my favorite way to spend my time with God because they are quick and easy to read, yet can be so profound. And besides, starting your morning with a little laughter is a great way to face your day!

  1. I have been wanting to see this but I don't go to regular theaters because of the cost. Great review and information. Book sounds okay a well, but I am not good with daily reading/devotionals.

    1. Really? Devotionals are so easy for me. If you get a chance, you should see this movie at least when it comes out on DVD. So funny!

  2. I've been seeing other moms talking about this movie on their blogs. I didn't know it was also a book too. I'm like you, I'm a visual kinda gal so I want to see the movie. Knowing me with my busy schedule, I'll catch it once it's on DVD. #ProductReviewParty

    1. I hear ya! I think it's such a cute movie, but it's up against some huge blockbusters so I'm not sure it'll be in theaters long.

  3. Hi, Stacie! Thank you for the VERY thorough review! I hadn't heard of this book or movie before -- which isn't surprising, as trying to juggle being a mom of two under three, blogging, and other responsibilities all make me woefully behind with regard to new releases. :-/

I've added this book to my Kindle Wish List, and I've begun following you on FB, Twitter, and Pinterest.

    Happy Memorial Day weekend! :-)
