Nail Trend Alert: Negative Space Nail Art

When I first saw the Negative Space nail trend early this year, I thought meh, looks okay.  But then I saw an unboxing video where the lady had her nails done in a negative space nail pattern, I fell in love!  They were C-U-T-E!

Since then, I have been trying to recreate the new nail trend on my nails. My first attempt was a disaster. The second time was better, but I still need to practice a bit more.  Here's how I achieved the look above.

Negative Space Nail Directions

1. Apply a ridge filler as your base coat.

2. Next, apply nail strips or tape to your nails.

3. Apply 2 coats of polish.

4. Remove tape when dry.

5. Apply a clear top coat to seal the design.

What do you think of negative space nails?  Will you be trying this trend?

  3. I have never seen this before. I don't think I would try it only because I am the MOST plain person when it comes to nails. Ain't no shame ;)

    1. No shame, girl. I'm pretty plain too. It's just easier to paint them and go!

  5. Cute! I love mixing it up but some of the techniques definitely require more work than I want to put in but this is so doable.

  7. This is really nice & unique. I'm not sure if I'll try it or not - it takes a lot of motivating and talking to myself to do my nails on a regular basis let alone get all fancy. LOL. You did a fab job; I like it on you.

  8. Now this is very interesting. I never heard of this trend before. I know it would come out as a disaster for me because putting on regular polish myself I don't do a very good job. You did a great job Stacie! #ProductReviewParty

  9. I've always admired negative nail space nail art. I can never keep my nails painted due to work which is a bummer.
