Poise Impressa: A New Tool to Use to Help Stop Bladder Leakage

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Poise for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

A few months back I talked about a really sensitive issue for women, Light Bladder Leakage. Today, I'm going to share more about SUI and what you can use to prevent it from happening.

So I've been seeing these commercials and magazine ads on Poise Impressa and I've been thinking what exactly is it for?

Stress Urinary Incontinence is a a common type of bladder leakage that affects 35 million women. Often, small leaks are brought on by simple things like exercising, laughing, or coughing.

Poise has come up with an ingenious idea to help stop leaks before they happen. It's called Poise Impressa Bladder supports. Basically it's a tampon.

A what?

Yep, it's like a tampon and here's how it works.

First make sure to reference the Impressa Sizing Kit to find their most comfortable size. You insert it like you would a tampon and it can be worn for up to 8 hours to prevent leaks triggered by laughing, coughing or sneezing, or exercise. It doesn't absorb urine if that's what your're thinking. Instead, it it gently lifts (or supports) the urethra to help stop leaks before they happen.

Please note that you shouldn't use Poise Impressa if you:

  • Are under the age of 21

  • Are pregnant, may become pregnant or have given birth within the last 3 months

  • Have experienced unusual or unexpected vaginal bleeding within the last 6 months

  • Have pain or a burning sensation when you urinate (this could be a urinary tract infection)

  • Are experiencing vaginal discharge that smells bad, irritation, soreness or itching (this could be a vaginal infection)

  • Had vaginal surgery within the last three months

  • Have already been diagnosed by your doctor with a severely dry (atrophic) vagina

  • Ask a doctor before using if you:

  • Have pain during intercourse or when inserting a tampon or tampon-like device (this could be an atrophic vagina)

  • Often experience difficulty in retaining a tampon or tampon-like device (this could be vaginal prolapse)

      1. I agree. Pads can stink, if I'm honest.
