Beautify Your Home the Green Way

Since the kids are returning to school soon, it's a good time for to do some fall cleaning. Right now were going through old clothes and giving some away to a local clothes closet and saving some for consignment shops. Our house will need a deep cleaning too.

As I looked through one of the most beautiful magazines out there, "Life Beautiful", I came across great ways to clean greener and I wanted to share them with you.

  • To clean your floor- mix 1 cup Vinegar and 2 Gallons warm water
  • To clean your toilet bowel- pour 1 cup Vinegar and let sit for 30 minutes. Then scrub bowl with baking soda.
  • Tub and Tile- Remove grime and film with Vinegar on a sponge. Wipe down. Then use baking soda to scrub tub.
  • *You can add essential oils like Lemon, Lime, Lemongrass, or Lavender to get rid of the sour smell.
  • All of these recipes are all natural and contain no preservatives. because they are non toxic, they will help your family and the environment.

  1. Hi Coupon Sista, love your site. Thanks for sharing the Green alternative. My grandma has cleaned her house that way for years. She things it's funny that I go and purchase items just for cleaning..LOL
    Have a great week!

  2. I love it--what great suggestions! My dad SWEARS by vinegar. According to him, it cleans floors, gets rid of colds, make the car run... you wouldn't believe what that man puts vinegar in. LOL! Good to see his old school southern remedies are back in style!

It was great meeting you at the General Mills Eat and Greet. I look forward to following your blog for some great coupons/tips and certainly to get to know you better!

  3. I love that we are finally getting back to basics and doing things the way they used to be done. I'm also glad you all are enjoying my posts!
