Ask The Coupon Sista

Hey everyone! I wanted to take this time to address a couple of good questions from a reader. So here goes.

Question: Do you find it hard to use computer generated coupons and do you have to have the entire page to redeem it, or can I cut it down?

Answer: I have never had an issue with any of my online coupons. You do have to be careful however, for the fake ones. You'll generally know which ones they are. Most of the online coupons out there have the same look. A bar-code, a company background image, and so on. Be leery of coupons that have no bar code and give a ridiculous discount. Online coupons can usually be scanned. So remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

In regards to cutting the coupon, most of the time, I cut the coupon out. No one has asked me for the actual page to see the web address. There have been times where I brought the whole page because I didn't have time, but I still end up ripping it out at the store. I hope we are never required to bring the whole page in, that would stink!

I hope that helps!

Do you have a question for The Coupon Sista? Feel free to give me a holla, and I'll do my best to help you out!

  1. Here's my question:
I have about 30 min - 1 hr a week to spend on coupons. What's the best bang for my buck? Coupons that come in the mail? Online?

  2. thanks for stopping by my blog. Happu UBP to you too.

  3. Lorie if you only have 30 minutes to an hour, I would say choose coupon inserts.
When you get your paper, write the date on the front of your coupon inserts so you can see it. Store them somewhere. Then when you see an item on sale on one of my lists, say Target or CVS, it will give the date of the coupon insert. Find that particular insert, look through it, and clip the coupon. Since you don't have a lot of time, this is an easy way to still save without all the extra cutting.
I will say it's ideal to do both because there are some super online coupons that you won't get anywhere else.
    Hope that helps!

  4. Happy UPB 2010 to you too MsBabyPlan!
