Last weekend, we headed to the newly remodeled Southdale for their rediscovered Southdale event which was full of shopping discounts and giveaways.

Southdale is the world‘s first mall and it’s located in Edina, MN. The entire mall has historical value and has now been remodeled into a high end shopping destination that includes stores like Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Coach, and David Yurman.
Southdale celebrated it’s new transformation with a shopping event full of fun things to do from pop-up store displays, a live DJ spinning the latest tunes, a kids corner, and a photo opp. Many retailers had light bites, samples and giveaways.
We picked up a delicious lemon Bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes complements of the Coach store.
Kate Spade gave away cute reusable totes and I even scored a gift card to People's Organic which I will do a review of on Instagram soon.
My thoughts
I have always loved Southdale and it has been my preferred shopping mall because it was smaller and not so crowded.
Ggone are the days of Bath & Bodyworks, H&M, and Victoria’s Secret. They have been replaced with a large Lululemon and Kate Spade and more expensive stores that may be beyond the reach of regular folks. But if you’re looking for a high quality gift to give or even treat yourself, they will definitely have something for you.
You can still find Macy’s deals and sales and Kowalski‘s, which is one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat. Dave & Buster’s, AMC theater, and Puttshack are there if you’re looking for fun things to do at Southdale.
Oh, and definitely stop by the taco restaurant there, they have some of the best tacos in Edina. There’s also a Sota shop coming, so that’s sure to be a popular spot to get your dirty sodas.
