Sports Fans
Minnesotans are proud of our hometown team, the Vikings and there’s so much Vikings gear to be found here at Dick‘s House sports in Minnetonka. I grabbed a couple of shirts that my guys are sure to love. Go Vikes! And can’t forget about our Minnesota Gophers either. Of course, you can find other professional team apparel from the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Timberwolves as well.

Dicks House of Sport
Dick’s House of Sport opened in May of this year, and is a new store concept which provides exciting in-store experiences, services for your sports, a huge product assortment, and even community events. Take a look at my tour here.

Ice Rink Now Open!
The outdoor field and track has been converted into a 60 feet wide by 100 feet long ice rink that just opened to the public on November 18. You can enjoy open skating and other special programming, including learn to skate sessions, soccer on ice, broom ball, skate 3V3 hockey tournament , and you can even skate with Santa!
The cost is $8 for folks 12 and up, and kids 12 and under can skate for $5. You can rent skates for $5 per skater. For the skate lover in your life, there are individual and family season passes available too. Dick’s also offers Sparx, an ice-skating sharpening service for eight bucks or complementary when first time skates are purchased in store.
While you’re there, check out the climbing wall for those that want indoor exercise on these cold winter days. It’s available for open climb, birthday parties, and fun team building activities. Plus, you can stop by the health and wellness spot to stock up on all your protein powders and all of your yoga accessories.
Dicks has everything you need for the sports lover in your home. Be sure to stop by Dick‘s House of Sport for all of your winter outdoor and indoor fun!

This year, I'm recovering from surgery as you may already know so most of my time will be spent at home or in bed while I'm on the mend.
I usually have a full calendar of events scheduled for my family and I to attend starting with Black Friday all the way until the big day arrives. But since I won't possibly be able to do everything I'd like, I put together a list of fun Christmas time activities that I hope to be able to cross of my Christmas must-do list.
10 Fun Things You Must Do During Christmastime
1. Watch all the Christmas movies. Yep, this one should be no problem for me. No problem at all.
2. Light your fireplace or candles and spend the evening listening to Christmas music. So relaxing.
3. Make Christmas treats with your kids - My son loves making Peppermint Bark every year. Here's a super easy recipe too.
4. Go tubing or sledding and come back home for hot cocoa. One of the best times I remember is sledding with my sisters and our family during Christmastime.
5. Have a cookie swap with friends or coworkers. Yes please!
6. Pack up your kids, and go look at neighborhood lights or visit a park or zoo's Christmas light display. Bring a thermos of hot apple cider too.
7. Send an old fashioned Christmas card. I still enjoy getting these every year.
8. Attend a Christmas play or concert. Many churches have professional shows for free.
9. Have a family game night. Play Holiday Cherades or your favorite card or board game.
10. Don't forget to share the true meaning of Christmas with your family. Every Christmas Eve, my grandma would share the Christmas story and remind us that Jesus is the reason for the season.
I am a simple girl. I don't need diamond rings or fancy purses for Christmas. To me, it's all about giving not getting. For many years, I was only concerned about being a blessing to my kids and hubby. I never really asked for anything for myself other than a stocking-stuffer or two.
I just love the holidays! All of the food, get-togethers, time with loved ones. It can't be beat! During this time, you'll probably have your fair share of invites to holiday parties. But don't go empty handed. Make a quick stop at Hallmark. Hallmark Gold Crown Stores don't just carry Holiday cards, but they also have cute holiday themed gifts. Perfect for hostess gifts or Secret Santa presents.
Gospel music is very near and dear to my heart. Now that were in the Christmas season, it's time to celebrate Gospel style! I put together a list of my all time favorite Gospel Christmas CD's that I have loved through the years. Listen a snippet of all these albums to hear it for yourself.
